The Morty and Lee Story: The Swiffer Effect

My parents have and still are my heroes.  They were each other's first love and have been married for 42 years.  They have been through some rough spots, but have always come out of them stronger and more in love than ever.  They truly enjoy each other's company.  They make the most out of what they do together.  Even the most mundane of activities like cleaning, they do together or at least keep each other company.  More often than not, my mom is the one cleaning (because she's too particular and a little bit of a neat freak) and my dad sits on the couch to keep her company.  I've watched them interact with each other like there was no one else in the room.  I love hearing them reminisce about their younger days, or planning their next trip, or sometimes my dad sings to my mom just because.  I have never heard them nag each other or criticize each other.   My husband and I are lucky to have them as role models.

So when this commercial with Morty and Lee Kaufman cleaning and trying out their Swiffer products came on,  I dropped what I was doing and just watched it from beginning to end.  They reminded me so much of my parents!  Check out Morty and Lee in action.  You'll probably recognize your own parents in them.

And I love their honest reaction to all the wonderful Swiffer products!  Like Lee, my mom and I clean everyday and are always looking for the "perfect" cleaning product.  We are also both on the short side so we find ourselves climbing on chairs and step stools to reach the chandeliers and above the china cabinet.  We were both excited when we discovered the Swiffer 360 duster with the extender. Woohoo! No more climbing! Don't even get us started on the Wet Jet, Sweeper and most recently the Steam Boost.  We are in cleaning heaven!!

Now you too can see the #SwifferEffects for yourself.   For your chance to win a #SwifferEffects kit ($20 value), leave a comment and tell me: Who are your favorite couples in your own life? Winning comment will be chosen via Random.org on July 26 at 9pm PST. Don't forget to leave me your Twitter ID or email address where you can be contacted if you win.

The Bounce Back Blogger Junket

**I was asked to participate in this campaign by the Bounce Back Film Campaign as part of a first-of-its-kind blogger initiative. I will cover the making of the movie from fundraising to premiere throughout the next year. I am being provided promotional material, giveaways and exclusive interviews but this is not a paid post. As always, my opinions are my own.

I was recently invited to attend The Bounce Back junket in L.A. where we were able to meet with Shemar Moore and director, Youssef Delara.

The Bounce Back is a movie about losing love and learning to love again.  The Bounce Back is a romantic comedy about finding the courage to love after love has let you down.

During our one-on-one chats with Shemar, said:

"I've been in love a few times in my life and one of the most difficult things to do after a bad break-up is to get back up on that proverbial horse. You’re hurt, you feel a bit broken and vulnerable and the last thing you want is to open yourself up to the pain again. In the past, I have found myself filling up that loneliness with work, work and more work.  That did lead to success, but I felt as lonely as I ever had until... I realized something.  There is no substitute for love and the only way to get it back in my life was to be vulnerable again.  You can't have love if you're not willing to take the risk."

Check out this video (courtesy of Jamie) of Shemar discussing The Bounce Back:

I was also fortunate to sit down with the film's director, Youssef Delara, who began his career as a visual effects associate on the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine series.  He then went on to produce visual effect for Star Trek: Voyager.  Delara has been an independent filmmaker  for the past five years and has directed four films through Cima Productions.   Delara says, "I feel blessed to be able to work closely with a talent lie Shemar on ‘The Bounce Back, say's Delara. "Shemar's instincts and sense of story really matches my own. Were not just trying to tell a heartfelt story but also giving the audience something innovative."

With talent and a story line like this, I, for one, cannot wait to see this movie.  I have a feeling my girlfriends and I will be having a "Bounce Back Mommies' Night Out" when it comes out!  Will you?
