I consider myself a computer geek. I am not a stranger to technology. When a friend encouraged me to join Facebook and Twitter, I laughed and figured it was just another chat room. Boy was I wrong! I was a bit intimated by it all. I sat back and watched conversations or tweets scrolling. I think it was about a month after I opened my Twitter account before I actually tweeted something. And it went something like this:
trying to navigate through twitter....newbie...wondering what the fuss is all about.6:13 PM May 22nd from web
I felt lost. Okay, I'll admit it. I was intimidated! The first thing I noticed was the 140 character limit. 140? What can you say in 140 characters or less? After reading a few tweets, you CAN apparently say a lot. Then there was the issue of people to follow and followers. The # perplexed me. What was that? What did it mean? I found out later it was called a hashtag. And there were tweeter parties. The more I tweeted, the more people I met. I found some parties and joined. I found a lot of blogs and read them. I found many useful product reviews. While reading blog after blog, I laughed and cried. But mostly, I was inspired. I wanted to write my own product reviews. I wanted to blog! But I didn't know how to get started.
I was learning how to navigate through this social networking site and actually liking it. I've met many people and look forward to meeting more. Thank you @mummytips, @byyanto, @Soph4Soph, @StokkeLovers, @TheOnlineMom, and @Resourcefulmom. You are my constants in this every changing twitterverse. I have learned a lot from all of you. After @mummytips asked me, "Why don't you blog?" I started asking myself the same thing.
So here I am. This is my first attempt. I have a lot to learn. But I'll get there. I may even see you all at BlogHer10!
